  • £43-48,000 p/a dependent on experience

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the directors the Business Development Manager will be responsible for maximising business growth through supporting Client Development Plans and by proactive engagement with new clients’ opportunities and emerging markets. Furthermore, you will play a critical role in advancing our market share and creating lasting impact with our clients.

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager who will be responsible for identifying and securing new projects and frameworks. Ideally you will have a sound knowledge and understanding of how water companies and other industrial water uses organise and maintain their plant and assets.

You will need to have excellent communications skills be able to engage in first line technical dialogue and information with clients, with a high level of technical competency in these and wider water assets.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities to increase revenue, improve profitability and drive sustainable profit growth.
  • Support Regional Directors in winning new business and expanding on existing revenue streams both within and outside of existing Framework Agreements.
  • Focus business development activities on the most beneficial clients and services by providing evidence-based recommendations to the director.
  • Understand the competitive landscape, whilst fully utilising Client Development Plans to maintain existing development momentum and maximise growth-impact.
  • Actively seek and follow up new business opportunities aligned to organisational strategic goals.
  • Communicate new service developments to existing and prospective clients.
  • In conjunction with the wider team, plan, prepare and deliver marketing literature, documents, reports and presentations.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships by attending client meetings and targeted networking events.

 

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Possess a positive attitude and be committed to high levels of care for staff and clients
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task and prioritise work
  • Full, UK driving licence
  • A willingness to travel nationwide with regular overnight stays, as required by the role
  • Strategically penetrate B2B markets, specifically focusing on business opportunities in the water, industrial and environmental project
  • Develop and execute innovative sales strategies that effectively integrate Panton McLeod and Stonbury’s solutions to meet diverse client needs.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in our target sectors, ensuring long-term partnerships and recurring business.
  • Lead market analysis efforts to anticipate trends and align our offerings with market demands.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure, emphasising a consultative approach tailored to each client.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure sales plans are well integrated with overall business objectives.
  • Utilise and enhance our CRM systems to optimize sales processes and improve customer engagement.
  • Experienced in bid and tender management process.

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience in commercial contract management and negotiation (including NEC 3/4).
  • Experience in the delivery of water projects at an operational level.

In return for your hard work and dedication, the National Business Development Manager will receive:

 

  • £43k to £48k per annum
  • Hybrid working arrangements between our office in Derby or Chawston and home.
  • 30 days Annual Leave (including Bank Holidays), rising to 34 with length of service.
