Overview

We’re seeking a SHWEQ Manager to join our team in Waterlooville.

 

In this role, you will provide expert advice and guidance to the business while overseeing and managing the day-to-day activities of the SHWEQ Advisors.

 

 

• £45k to £55k doe
• Company car or car allowance

We deliver specialist and sustainable, water asset and infrastructure solutions within the water, wastewater and environment sectors. 

What you'll be doing

Reporting directly to the SHWEQ Director, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and ensuring the effective operational delivery of Safety, Health, Wellbeing, Environmental, and Quality (SHWEQ) standards.
 
• Deputise for the SHWEQ Director as and when required.
• In collaboration with the SHWEQ and Compliance Advisor, conduct Management System auditing.
• Direct Client engagement and support, remaining the primary point of contact for day-to-day SHWEQ activities and communication.
• Lead and develop the SHWEQ Advisors.
• Lead and support incident investigations, root causes analysis and lessons learnt.
• Carry out site, depot and facilities, pre-construction inspections.
• Manage regional SHWEQ enhancement plans relating to operational sites and facilities.
• Carry out contractor audits, reviews and approvals.
• Undertake and lead SHWEQ improvement projects to drive industry best practise.
• Attendance and contribution to client and third-party seminars, whilst obtaining learning and development opportunities for the business.

Who we’re looking for

• Construction (Design and Management) experience, particularly in the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer.
• Experience of supporting behaviour and cultural programmes.
• Membership of a professional body (IOSH, IIRSM, IEMA), preferably CMIOSH.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred; NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum.
• Experience of writing policies and procedures.
• Proven and effective Root Cause Analysis techniques.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently to problem solve.
• Full clean UK driving licence and a willingness to travel UK wide with some overnight stays.
• A good communicator with the ability to engage with employees at all levels.
